Personal Connection to Education
Even though I was homeschooled till 8th grade, I excelled academically throughout my schooling. I was a self-motivated learner and so worked best when studying independently. I was able to thrive on my own till the 10th grade and then realized that I required mentorship to help me perform better. I was an outstanding student throughout school, but once I started my engineering curriculum my grades began to decline and so did my confidence. I began to doubt myself and wondered if I could even finish my degree. In my final year of college, I interned at IOCL Faridabad and was mentored by Mr. R M Thakur (advisor in the Petroleum Ministry). He removed my limiting beliefs regarding my academic performance and built me back up layer by layer from rock bottom. This change reflected in my improved grades, increased confidence, and newfound drive for learning and developing new skills. This experience taught me that everyone has potential, and under the right mentorship, they can excel.

The Difference Between Tutoring and Mentoring
Tutoring is just one aspect of mentorship. While tutoring involves the transfer of information, mentorship goes far beyond that. Mentorship is about building up a student layer by layer, removing negative thoughts, reframing their thought process, and fostering a growth mindset. Unlike tutoring, which focuses primarily on preparing subject content, mentorship at our academia includes creating independent learners and teaching students how to study effectively. We provide a ladder framework to help them reach their highest potential and transform their learning journey into a holistic development experience.
